Harry Kane is flying back from London after winning the Ballon d'Or and will be available for Bayern Munich's DFB-Pokal second-round tie against second-division 1. FC Magdeburg at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday 28 October, assistant coach Aaron Danks said on Tuesday.
Danks said Kane would return with the other players in the afternoon, train, and be available on Wednesday. He called the award "a great honour for Bayern Munich too" and said Kane had deserved it. "Knowing Harry, his focus is already back on his next goal, his next performance," Danks added.
Kane won the award on Monday evening, narrowly ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal. Goal reports he is the first Bayern player to win it since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981, and that the club has planned a special welcome for him at the Magdeburg game, with more honours at Saturday's Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund.
Head coach Vincent Kompany is still in hospital after collapsing during training last Friday. Danks visited him on Monday and said he was in good spirits and getting better every day. There is no update yet on a diagnosis or when he will return to work.
