Liverpool beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday 25 October in Premier League matchday 8. Pascal Groß put into his own net on 17 minutes and Alexander Isak scored on 21.

BBC Sport and Sky Sports report that Florian Wirtz's shot, which was going wide, was diverted in by Groß. Bradley Barcola then cut the ball back from the right for Isak's cushioned finish, his sixth Premier League goal of the season.

Brighton had more of the ball (about 64% possession) but managed only one shot on target. Yasin Ayari missed an early chance and later struck the post after Alisson lost the ball. It was Brighton's first league defeat since August and the first league goal they had conceded since 5 September.

The result was Andoni Iraola's first Premier League win at Anfield as Liverpool head coach. Liverpool moved up to fourth on 15 points, one behind Brighton on 16. City and Arsenal lead on 21.
