Two more Brasileirão matchday 33 games finished early on Thursday 29 October (WAT), with both home sides winning. Both games kicked off at 01:30 WAT.
In Belém, Clube do Remo beat Botafogo 2-1 at the Mangueirão. Jajá Silva gave Remo the lead on eight minutes with a right-footed finish from the centre of the box, and Leonel Picco doubled it on 54 minutes with a left-footed shot into the top corner from the right side of the area, according to ESPN's match data.
Botafogo pulled one back on 83 minutes when substitute Edenílson headed in Marçal's flick-on from a corner, but Remo held on. Remo also won 2-1 away to Botafogo in May, so they have now beaten them twice this season.
The win takes Remo to 29 points from 33 games. They stay 19th, four points behind Corinthians in 18th and six behind Internacional in 16th, the first place above the relegation zone, in ESPN's table after Wednesday's games. Botafogo stay 11th on 39 points.
At the Arena Fonte Nova, Bahia were 2-0 up after ten minutes. Rodrigo Nestor, a former São Paulo player, headed in Jean Lucas's cross on six minutes, and Erick Pulga finished from close range after a cross from Marcos Victor four minutes later.
São Paulo were level by half-time. Lucas Moura curled in a right-footed shot from outside the box on 43 minutes after a pass from Jonathan Calleri, and Damián Bobadilla hit a left-footed shot into the top corner from outside the area in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time, after a corner.
Marcos Victor, who set up the second goal, won it for Bahia on 81 minutes with a header from a set piece, ESPN's match data shows. Bahia move up to sixth on 53 points, one behind Cruzeiro, Athletico Paranaense and Fluminense, while São Paulo are tenth on 43 points.
Leaders Flamengo can move three points clear of Palmeiras, who drew 0-0 at Santos on Wednesday, when they play Vasco da Gama at the Estádio Nilton Santos on Thursday night (00:00 WAT Friday).
