Ampem Darkoa beat Edo Queens 3-2 in Cairo ET to take WAFU-B CWCL ticket

Ampem Darkoa scored two minutes into CAF-ordered Cairo extra time to turn 2-2 into 3-2 and eliminate Edo Queens from the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League — on the same Thursday Nigeria's Flamingos face Mexico in Morocco.

Ghana's Ampem Darkoa Ladies beat Nigeria's Edo Queens 3-2 after extra time in Cairo on Thursday 29 October to take the last WAFU Zone B ticket to the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League, MyJoyOnline and 3News reported.

The decisive board resumed from the start of extra time with the score tied at 2-2. Ampem Darkoa scored from a corner two minutes into the restart to make it 3-2, then held under pressure for the rest of the two 15-minute periods under Charles Anokye Frimpong, MyJoyOnline's match report said. There was no further scoring.

The result closes a dispute that began on 5 September in Ouagadougou. That final finished 2-2 after 90 minutes; Edo Queens then won 4-1 on penalties and were initially declared WAFU-B champions. Ampem Darkoa protested through the Ghana Football Association that the match should have gone to extra time before spot kicks. CAF annulled the shoot-out and ordered a Cairo restart of extra time only — a ruling the CAF Appeal Board upheld on 16 October, as the Ghana FA and Premium Times had outlined ahead of Thursday.

What Nigeria loses is continental. The winner booked Group B at the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League in Egypt (1–15 November) alongside Morocco's AS FAR, Uganda's Kawempe Muslim Ladies and Mali's USFAS Bamako — the same draw Premium Times flagged when the ticket was still live. Ampem Darkoa now take that place for a second CWCL appearance after finishing fourth in 2023, 3News noted. Edo Queens are out of Africa's premier women's club competition for this cycle.

TuSport's exclusive framing is the Nigerian dual calendar, not a recycled Ghana wire. The same Thursday had already carried CAF approval for Edo Queens replacements Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Oluebube Umejiaku — both named while attached to Nigeria's Flamingos at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco — for the Cairo party, ACLSports reported. The Flamingos were still scheduled for Mexico in the Round of 16 at 16:00 WAT at the Mohammed VI Football Complex; TuSport is not inventing that knockout score here.

So West African readers tracking Nigeria's women's pathways get one verified board and one open board on the same day: club continental exit confirmed in Cairo, youth World Cup knockout still to come in Rabat. Moses Aduku's side had told Premium Times they were "in the right frame of mind" before the thirty minutes; the early Ampem corner and the hold that followed ended the CWCL path.

Locked facts only: Canal Old Stadium Cairo, ET restart at 2-2, Ampem goal at about two minutes making 3-2, Ampem hold for CWCL Group B, Edo Queens eliminated, Flamingos–Mexico still listed 16:00 WAT without a TuSport-invented full-time.
